Rare Meat by Hugh Dysart

Tell us all your half time stories,

tell us of your puddin’ and pie

Tell us of your faded glories

Memories so sad,

they make me cry

Rare meat, truth sizzles on a grill,

my compliments to the chef

Cued voices, moralizing movie stars,

caviar with a conscience

Rejecting reality, without drugs,

skywriting as science

Southern grannies, darn rebel quilts,

make whitey warm again

Floridian sand, slips through the fingers,

of blue haired widows

Fat ass celebrities dance for peace,

power to the pompous

Blackhawks, Tomahawks, tribal genocide,

brown and dead

Rare meat, truth bleeds on a grill,

my compliments to the chef

Tell us all your big shot stories,

tell us of your puddin’ and pie

Tell us of your fabled glories

The memories fade,

then they die
