Who has never stopped in a field to look for a four-leaf clover? Who has never looked to the twinkling night skies above and wished upon a falling star? Does not the same person admire the dandelion as they cast their wish and blow its seeds in hopeful anticipation? Perhaps hope is the seed we ritualistically send into fate’s wind … hoping such dreams will find root upon nourished grounds.
Title: Wishful Seeds
Simple little rhymes
passing through
innocence in time
casting dreams upon the breeze
as we scatter
such dainty seeds.
Wishful thoughts
careful pleads
launched upon
treasured dandelion seeds.

Weeds swaying in the wind
foretelling my doom
as the weeds
spread out
over the land
blasted to hell
as nuclear war
consumed the world
leaving nothing
but dust in the wind
and weeds spreading
all over the dead earth
humanity becoming
a distant memory
as the world turns
spinning around the sun
with no humans left
the world turns wild again
and the wild things
come out
and take over the world
thus goes the glory
of the world
mutter the weeds
amongst themselves
no one is left alive
to say anything to them
but the ghosts of humanity
lingering in the wind
